Chùa Linh Ứng là địa điểm nổi tiếng tại thành phố Đà Nẵng với 3 ngôi chùa cùng một tên gọi. Ngôi chùa mà chúng tôi tới thăm là chùa Linh Ứng nằm ở bãi Bụt trên bán đảo Sơn Trà, cách trung tâm thành phố khoảng 10 km. Lưng chùa tựa vào núi, còn mặt chùa hướng ra biển, bao quanh là Cù lao Chàm còn phóng tầm mắt ra phía xa là đèo Hải Vân.
Trên chùa Linh Ứng có một pho tượng Quan Thế Âm đứng nhìn ra biển. Đây chính là tượng Phật bà Quan Âm cao nhất Việt Nam với chiều cao lên tới 67 mét – tương đương một toà nhà khoảng 22 tầng. Đài sen rộng tới 35 mét. Bên trong lòng tượng chia làm 12 tầng và tầng nào cũng đặt những pho tượng Phật. Người dân nơi đây cho rằng từ ngày có chùa, cả vùng ven biển Đà Nẵng luôn sóng yên, biển lặng, mưa thuận, gió hoà, làng chài làm ăn thuận buồm xuôi gió, kinh tế của Đà Nẵng dần đi lên và phát triển như ngày nay.
